As part of a collaborative effort, LoveQuest was developed by a dedicated team, with each member contributing their expertise to different aspects of the project. My primary focus was on crafting and refining the communication features, ensuring a seamless and reliable platform for user interaction.
This project, the final group project from my graduate class on Rapid Prototyping, showcases my experience and deepening understanding of design principles and user experience, reflecting my commitment to delivering high-quality and effective solutions.
Many individuals find it challenging to meet potential partners and establish meaningful relationships. Traditional dating methods often fall short, leading to frustration and a sense of isolation. Users seek an efficient, user-friendly platform that can streamline their search for compatible matches, provide deeper insights into potential partners, and facilitate seamless communication to foster genuine connections.
During my research, I aimed to maintain the core functionalities of traditional dating apps while enhancing user-friendliness and adding fun capabilities. My goal was to improve the overall experience without altering its fundamental nature, making it significantly more memorable.

The LoveQuest app addresses these issues by offering a comprehensive suite of features designed to enhance the dating experience. Our app provides:
Basic Search:
Customization: Users can set preferences for Gender, Age, Desire for Children, Hobbies, and Relationship Type.
Enhanced Matching: By tailoring preferences, users are matched with individuals who align with their desired criteria, increasing the likelihood of meaningful connections.
Detail Review:
Profile Management: Users can view and manage potential matches' profiles, rate them based on feelings and feedback, and like profiles for quicker access.
Efficient Organization: The ability to pin important matches ensures quicker access and retrieval of profiles, streamlining the dating process.
Communication (My Specific Task):
Robust Interaction: Users can connect through text, video calls, and innovative video messages, with features like virtual gifts and personalized recordings.
Building Connections: These interactive tools allow users to explore compatibility and foster intimacy, with each conversation holding the potential for a lifelong bond or a meaningful connection.

LoveQuest Communication Summary
Upon accessing the LoveQuest home page, users can choose from a variety of tasks. To reach the Communication section, they simply click the right arrow once. Here, they will find a list of matches they have previously engaged with in conversation. Users can either select an existing match to continue a conversation or initiate a new chat with someone they have yet to speak with.
Continuing a Conversation:
Users can chat with a match using the on-screen keyboard.
The camera button allows users to either video chat or send a video message.
Initiating a New Chat:
Users select a match and have options for video functions.
They can choose from suggested messages and press "Create" to start the chat.
Video Messaging:
When clicking the camera button in the chat, users can select to either start a video call or send a video message.
For video messages, users can turn their microphone on or off, press the record button to start recording, and send the video once finished.
The sent video will appear in the chat for the match to view.
Video Calling:
Users are presented with a call interface, allowing them to turn their microphone on or off and use the chat function during the call.
They can end the call by pressing the red hang-up button.
LoveQuest ensures a seamless and engaging user experience, combining traditional dating app features with enhanced functionality for memorable interactions.
